Accused of stabbing friend in the back
DANCEHALL ARTISTE MS. Ting answered to charges of felonious wounding in the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's Court after she was accused of stabbing her friend of five years in the back.
Court records allege that Ms. Ting, 19, whose real name is Natesha Lindsay, was at a party on April 22 at Bob Marley Boulevard in Coorville Gardens, Kingston 20, at approximately 1:30 a.m. when a dispute developed between her and 21-year-old, Kasnique Austin, a nursing student.
ARGUMENT
The court heard that Ms. Ting pushed Austin and told her that she had stepped on her toe.
The two argued and Austin left the scene and was walking, with her two-year-old daughter in her hand when she was stabbed from behind with a pair of scissors. She was admitted to the Kingston Public Hospital for three days.
Hugh Faulkner, Lindsay's lawyer, said the two have been friends since his client was 14-years-old. Both reside on Bob Marley Boulevard.
The medical report was not available so Resident Magistrate Judith Pusey put the case to be mentioned on May 18 and ordered that Ms. Ting's fingerprints be taken.
Faulkner indicated to the court that Austin would also be obtaining legal counsel for the case.
