Be careful what you eat

YESTERDAY'S STORY IN THE STAR about the death of 2005 Dancehall Queen Shanique Taylor is extremely sad.

Not only was she young, not even 21, and just getting a break in life, but the gruesome manner of her passing is sad. Who can help but be moved by the graphic tale of someone who really rotted away, with pus and maggots coming from all parts of her, unable to open her eyes and mouth to see the flies that her melting flesh attracted?

What is especially heart-rending, though, is the possibility that it might have been a deliberate act, as Shanique's mother said that after her daughter died, someone made the beginnings of a confession, that Taylor "never deserve fi eat di food wha wi gi har."

Added to that is the doctor with whom THE STAR spoke saying that the condition Taylor died from can be brought on by quite a few drugs.

It is easy to work up a conspiracy theory for the slightest hint of a mysterious situation, but this one does stir interest more than the passing "I really wonder ... ."

Obviously the various tests that Taylor went through before she died showed nothing suspicious and certainly now that she is dead only suspicions will linger. However, it is a warning to all to watch what they eat and from whom - and it is not a case of watching the waistline.
