A VERY DISTURBING story appeared in yesterday's edition of THE STAR.
It was about a set of armed men who have been driving around, abducting and raping unsuspecting women in sections of Kingston and St. Andrew.
As the story indicates, between April 29 and May 2, the police revealed that two women were abducted from Eastwood Park Road near Dumbarton Avenue and one each from West Avenue off Constant Spring Road and Whitehall Avenue, all in St. Andrew and West Kingston. The story further indicated that from those points the women were reportedly taken to locations off Red Hills Road and Wilton 'Rema' Gardens where they were sexually assaulted.
Then to add insult to injury, the women were released randomly across the city, by being unceremoniously pushed from a moving vehicle.
What sort of people would do this? Don't they have daughters, sisters, mothers? Would they like anyone to do that to them?
What sort of joy can anyone get from destroying the lives of innocent females just for illegal and immoral sexual satisfaction? There was a time in Jamaica when women, unlike men, could go anywhere without worrying if anything will happen to them. Those days are apparantly gone as women, now maybe more than men, have to be careful about where they trod nowadays.
In any event we hope the police can find these wicked men and bring them to justice but lest we forget if they escape from men they cannot escape from Him.
