THE EDITOR MADAM:
I write in regard to your editorial in your publication on Thursday, December 11, headlined : Abuse of Power. The comments were in relation to evidence given by a Cable & Wireless Fraud Control Officer in an on-going murder trial.
The editorial claims the Cable & Wireless employee testified that all calls are recorded for billing purposes.
Cable & Wireless states categorically that it does not record telephone calls in the normal course of business. We can only venture to guess that our employee's attempt to inform the Court that all calls are timed electronically for billing purposes was misconstrued.
We ask that you give this letter prominence because of the gravity of the unfounded claim.
I am etc,
